Planning your first container of dehydrated onion or garlic? This guide covers the numbers importers ask about most often: packing, container loads and minimum order.
Packing options
Dehydrated onion is packed in 14, 20 or 25 kg cartons, and dehydrated garlic in 20 or 25 kg cartons. Each has a double LDPE liner to keep moisture out during the sea voyage. Fried onion is the exception: it ships in 1, 5 or 10 kg nitrogen-flushed bags inside cartons.
How much fits in a container
The finer the cut, the more weight fits in the same space. These are approximate loads for a 20′ FCL:
| Form | Approx. load (20′ FCL) |
|---|---|
| Flakes | 8–10 MT |
| Chopped | 12–14 MT |
| Minced | 14–15 MT |
| Granules | 16–17 MT |
| Powder | 16–18 MT |
| Fried onion | 6–8 MT |
Minimum order
Our MOQ starts from 1 FCL, and mixed loads are welcome. A mixed container lets you try several cuts or combine onion and garlic in a single shipment.
Before you order
- Confirm the form, size range and colour grade you need
- Choose your carton size and any private-label requirements
- Check the import rules and documents required in your country
- Compare landed cost per kilogram, not only the unit price
Documents
A lab report and phytosanitary certificate go with every shipment. Tell us early about anything else your market requires, so it can be arranged before loading.
Treat container loads as a guide. Confirm the exact figure for your product mix and carton size when you receive your quote.
